Kanser Paru-Paru

Kanser paru-paru merupakan salah satu penyebab utama kematian di Malaysia.

Dalam kalangan lelaki, kanser paru-paru menduduki tempat kedua. Manakala, bagi wanita di tempat kelima.

Laporan Malaysia National Cancer Registry (MNCRR) 2012-2016 mendapati, hampir 90 peratus kes disahkan pada tahap ketiga dan keempat. Kanser tahap empat biasanya amat sukar diubati dan lazimnya membawa maut.

Walaupun kadar hidup setelah didiagnosis dengan kanser paru-paru pada peringkat awal adalah 49% tetapi hanya lebih kurang 2% sahaja penghidap kanser paru-paru yang telah merebak ke bahagian lain di dalam badan masih hidup setelah 5 tahun.

Kanser paru-paru tidak boleh dipandang remeh kerana penyakit ini mampu memusnahkan kehidupan orang-orang yang kita sayangi.

Kesan Jangka Panjang Merokok

Jika sukar ubah tabiat, ubahlah tingkahlaku

Tabiat buruk merokok adalah sukar untuk berubah, kerana perokok tidak boleh mengawal tabiat semulajadi ini yang telah menjadi kebiasaan dalam persekitaran mereka.
Ubah strategi dengan membuat perubahan tingkahlaku dalam kesihatan untuk 'menjauhkan' perokok kepada tabiat buruk ini. Perubahan tingkahlaku dalam kesihatan ialah perubahan kepada gaya hidup sihat seperti bersenam, makan secara sihat, tidak minum minuman beralkohol dan rehat yang cukup di samping kesihatan mental yang baik seperti mengelak berada dalam tekanan.
Realitinya, ramai yang tidak boleh berhenti merokok kerana mereka merokok apabila bosan dan tertekan. Dari psikologi kesihatan, perokok akan meninggalkan tabiat buruk itu apabila mencapai satu tahap, perubahan tingkah laku kesihatan itu positif dan berkesan kepada mereka. Sikap positif yang baharu biasanya mengambil masa yang lama untuk berubah dan tabiat yang lama pula mengambil masa untuk berhenti. Perubahan tingkahlaku kesihatan juga memerlukan kepada perubahan 'persekitaran sekeliling'.
Orang di sekeliling kita adalah amat penting bagi persekitaran kita. Keluarga, rakan dan orang yang kita luangkan masa memberikan kesan terhadap kesihatan kita. Mereka boleh membantu untuk memperbaiki dengan memberikan galakan atau menjadi model yang positif, tetapi mereka juga boleh memberi impak negatif.
Ini tidak bermakna seorang perokok perlu berhenti berjumpa atau bersosial dengan rakan-rakan yang merokok. Sebaliknya beritahu rakan-rakan, 'saya sedang berusaha berhenti merokok dan saya amat mengharapkan sokongan dan bantuan rakan-rakan."Rakan yang baik akan menyokong perubahan positif ini dan mungkin juga sama-sama berhenti merokok.

If you see the doctor as soon as you discover the symptoms, your cancer may be detected at an earlier stage, and the treatments are more likely to be effective.
