Short book review for Steven Wong’s
Moments (True Events)
This book has been written from the author’s point of view
based on the real events that took place before, during and after his diagnosis
of cancer. He shares with the readers on various plights during treatments and
how one’s journey is eased with constant encouragement and support from various
groups. The most prominent part of this book is the self-determination and
constant perseverance of the author himself and how he manages to focus and be
self-motivated at all times. He also persistently had an open mind to the
events taking place.
Language used in this book is very straight forward and easy
to interpret and this whole story is in a chronological order. The author also
has given in-depth and intricate details on the stages he went through during
the transition period and enhanced it with several scenarios such as lyrics of
a song playing in that particular moment and given a very precise explanation
on changes in his lifestyle during the whole course of pre and post treatment.
Steven Wong’s Moments (True Events) is a suitable read for
all individuals who wish to read and immerse into the life story of a
survivor’s stint and gain better knowledge and exposure on the life of a cancer
survivor.
