July 13th is GIST Awareness Day! A gastrointestinal stromal tumour (GIST) is a type of sarcoma. The cancer forms in tissues of the digestive tract but are most common in the stomach or small intestines.
People with GIST often do not experience any specific symptoms or signs. When symptoms do occur, they may be vague. If you are concerned about any of these symptoms that you experience, please talk with your doctor.
