According to NASOM, around 9,000 autistic children are born in Malaysia every year. Autism is a spectrum disorder (ASD), which means each affected individual shows different severity and range of symptoms.
Treatment is available for both children and adults to improve their social and emotional wellbeing. It is also important for us to accept and support them in everyday situations since affected individuals often feel socially excluded and alienated. Adults with ASD are also more likely to be unemployed, which causes other problems in life.
By helping people with ASD have equal opportunities and access to healthcare and other essential services, we can allow everyone to take part in this diversely awesome society, inspiring a more inclusive and kinder world.
