Irregular Menstruations

Periods can be different for every woman. It may be like clockwork for some, while others are hit or miss and unpredictable. Women get their period every 24 to 38 days with each period lasting between 2 to 8 days. Is your period irregular -- and if so, does it need treatment?

Call your doctor if you have had regular, monthly periods and the pattern changes. Your doctor may give you a physical exam and other tests to rule out pregnancy or a health problem.
